Recommended Products
Any detergent that does not contain softeners is fine. Dreft contains softeners and is NOT acceptable.
My first choice is LuLu's in the Fluff.
My second choice is Tide or Tide Free.
Oxygen bleach (without additives) is acceptable. These include Oxiclean Baby, Biokleen, Ecover, and Trader Joe's.
Ecover Ecological Fabric Softener is safe to use. It will not cause repelling or stink.
Be sure to use a cloth safe rash cream! CJ's is my personal favorite!
Pre-washing
All fabrics are pre-washed, but I recommend washing once in the detergent you use.
Wash Routine for Diapers and Wipes
Quick warm wash or pre-wash (check to see if your machine is using warm water)*
Long hot wash
Extra rinse
Machine dry medium or line dry.
*A cold pre-wash prevents stains but does a terrible job of loosening urine and feces. A hot pre-wash does the best job of loosening urine and feces but has the greatest liklihood of staining. A warm pre-wash does a great job of loosening urine and feces and has a lesser liklihood of staining than hot water.
Wash Routine for Wet Bags
Wash warm. Tumble dry medium or hang dry. Warm iron on fabric only. DO NOT IRON THE PROCARE LINER.
